JMA 2026-27 Uganda: Sharing & Caring

In this year’s JMA, we will learn how God wants us to SHARE with and CARE for one another.

We will see how Christians in Uganda are doing that, and how we can play our part by praying, giving and supporting them.

Uganda is a young country, with many children and young people. In fact, around 25 million children and young people live in Uganda - more than three times the total population of the whole island of Ireland!

The Methodist Church in Uganda (MCU) wants to support these children as they develop and learn about life, with Sunday Schools playing a key role. They help children to learn about God’s love and grow in faith together – but lots of Sunday Schools need support so that they can provide Bibles, teaching materials and safe places for children to meet.

All funds raised through JMA will go to the Methodist Church in Uganda. They will help provide bilingual Sunday School materials, training in teaching and safeguarding for 60 Sunday School teachers, Holiday Bible Schools and Wellness Camps, and support the creation of MCU’s first Child Safeguarding Policy.

How can you get involved?

Using the JMA Leader’s Guide, you can help the children in your church, group or home discover what life is like in Uganda, what JMA is raising money for, and how God calls us to SHARE with and CARE for others, even when they are very different from us.

Our Caring & Sharing JMA resource for 2026-27 includes facts, quizzes, a Bible focus and memory verse, drama, craft and a Ugandan game! Our printable workbook with colouring in pages and fun activities makes sharing about world mission as engaging as possible. If you don’t have access to a printer, the WMP office can provide copies!
