ABOUT MCI
District Superintendents
We are grateful to God for those who serve as District Superintendents within the Methodist Church in Ireland. They are Rev Dr John Alderdice (North Eastern), Rev Andrew Dougherty (Southern) and Rev Alan Wardlow (Acting North Western).
District Superintendents are appointed full-time for each District to provide oversight, leadership support and Connexional vision for the mission and ministry of Societies, Circuits and ministers.
They work to ensure that districts are operating effectively, that individual circuits are focused on their core work and that ministers and circuits are supported. They work closely with all members of the Church, ministerial and lay, to achieve this.

ABOUT MCI
District Lay Leaders
The District Lay Leader’s primary role is to support the District Superintendent in whatever way they can within the District.
Through this collaborative working, the District Lay Leaders will be actively representing the church in the community and at events, being involved in discussions around mission and discipleship as well as encouraging and inspiring societies. They will also be consulting on issues that are affecting the circuits and districts, whilst helping to discern direction.
