Barry & Gillian Sloan visit WMP

Barry and Gillian outside Edgehill with Heather Morris (MCI General Secretary).

Barry and Gillian Sloan visited wmp last week, sharing news about their work with INSPire.

It was wonderful to hear what is happening at INSPIRE. Having just celebrated its 10 year anniversary, the INSPIRE community is flourishing on the Brühl in Chemnitz, Germany. Local people come together to connect through cultural, social and musical events, with Music Mondays and Soul Sundays providing space for building relationships and exploring spirituality in an open and respectful setting. There is so much we can learn from INSPIRE , about how to live well in community as followers of Jesus. We were also excited to hear that the first INSPIRE baptism will be happening soon!

Gillian continues her role as a mission partner with INSPIRE, now serving through General Board of Global Ministries (part of the United Methodist Church). This role is partially funded by Irish Methodists through a grant from WMP, and it’s our privilege to support Gillian as she serves the people of Chemnitz and lives out her calling every day.

In addition to his role with INSPIRE, Barry is also Partnership Coordinator for Europe in the Global Relationships team (Methodist Church in Britain).

Please continue to pray for Barry and Gillian as they serve the community on the Brühl.
