We’re standing with Haiti
Thank you to everyone who joined the Voices for Haiti campaign over the last few months. The Methodist Church in Britain have put together a video of prayerful responses that will be shared with the Methodist Church in Haiti as an encouragement and a symbol of solidarity with our Methodist brothers and sisters there.
World Mission Partnership sent a written prayer to add to the many voices uplifting Haiti together. Feel free to use this prayer in your own personal prayer time or in any church gatherings where you are remembering Haiti.

WMP Prayer for Haiti
We’re standing with Haiti.
Lord God,
We see the hardship and hurt your people are facing in Haiti.
We pray for those who have been displaced, forced to leave their homes by gangs. We pray for those living in temporary accommodation, we ask Lord that you would keep them well despite the unsanitary conditions, keep them warm despite the draft, keep your loving hand on them at this time.
We pray for the vulnerable in society, for the children, the disabled and elderly. There are many facing illness and food insecurity. We pray for those with no family support, who have lost loved ones and are struggling on alone.
We thank you for the Methodist Educational system in Haiti, we pray for the teachers who are still able to work, though many have fled due to violence and insecurity. We pray that you would sustain them and help them to instil hope and purpose in the hearts of children they teach.
We pray for the mothers, who have sold everything they own just to give their children an education. Help their children to learn and grow into young people with bright futures.
We pray that Haiti could become a place where young people could feel confident they have a future, that no one else should feel they need to leave their own country to seek a better life.
We pray for those caught up in gang violence, help them to see the error of their ways and see the humanity of their fellow Haitians. We pray for an end to the struggles of each person in Haiti.
We thank you for your church and their commitment to serving their communities throughout these times of crisis. Give them strength and perseverance to carry on your work, protect them from harm as they serve in their mission field.
As Irish Methodists we stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Haiti.
In Jesus’ holy name,
Amen
