JMA: Supporting ministry in Ghana

Last year, JMA raised money for children’s and youth ministry in MCI’s sister churches.

Thanks to all the children and young people who took part in our “Great Big Global Family” campaign, and all the adults who supported them, WMP were able to send a grant of £10,000 to the Northern Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana (MCG.)

MCG is a large church, with more than 800,000 members. Their Northern Accra Diocese is linked to MCI’s North Eastern District, with the aim of finding ways that our churches can support, encourage and learn from each other.

Youth Ministry is an important part of MCG’s work, and in a country with almost twelve million children, there is plenty of work to do!

The grant from World Mission Partnership will be used to support four aspects of MCG’s ministry with children and young people:

  1. Creating dedicated meeting spaces for youth and children’s ministry.

  2. Outreach work to children in remote communities.

  3. Essential resources for children attending secondary school (e.g. beds or school equipment.)

  4. Partnering with the Ghanaian Government on child protection work.
