Woodvale Methodist Church

NORTH EASTERN DISTRICT

Over the last year Woodvale Methodist Church has been excited to see numerical and spiritual growth taking place as the church has faithfully been opening the doors and seeing what God is doing.

There has been an increase in number of children, young people, and families participating in church life. One of the ways they have witnessed this is with 9–13-year-olds joining the youth fellowship. Their youth and children's worker comments,

“Youth fellowship is where I’ve seen God move most; our numbers have grown so much because they are bringing their friends. Watching them experience God answering their prayer requests and the complete sense of community and family that has formed between them has been the biggest blessing and greatest privilege.”

They have also combined Messy Church with a Sunday evening family meal open to the community. This has given them the opportunity to build relationships with families who do not attend morning services. As more people attend, there is excitement about how this may grow and develop into the future.

Sunday morning worship now sees more families regularly attending, with diverse ages and nationalities, leading them to explore and consider what an inclusive church family looks like. Initiatives like unified teaching on the armour of God and a monthly ‘All in’ family service have helped connect all ages within the congregation, to the credit of the older and established members of the church who have welcomed and supported the new families and changes to worship.

They praise God for answered prayers to see more people attend Woodvale and seek his guidance as they journey on as a church family.
