Domestic Abuse Response

Today is ‘International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women’.

Domestic abuse has historically been cloaked in silence, treated as an issue that is to remain behind closed doors. Such an attitude has attributed to continuing abuse and violence on many women, men, and children.

Domestic abuse is an injustice in our society. An injustice that is at epidemic level. The statistics on this island, and across the world, are evidence of this. Advocating and protecting the vulnerable is part of the gospel message of Christ, and therefore, part of our mission responsibility as Christ’s Church.

New Resources

We hope that our ‘Response to Domestic Abuse’ Document and our new worship resources are helpful throughout the Connexion, as we think and act on preventative, protective and supportive measures for the victims and survivors of Domestic Abuse within our congregations and in our communities.
