“Devote yourselves to prayer,
being watchful and thankful.”
COLOSSIANS 4:2
There is a saying that an “army marches on its stomach”
– (Napoleon Bonaparte).
However, it has also been said that the Church “marches on its knees.”
Some describe prayer as part of “the art of breathing.” Just as our bodies find a natural rhythm of breathing in and out, both being as important as the other, so prayer and mission go together in the same way. As we pray, we are breathing in, and as we join in mission we are breathing out: both are essential for the work of the Kingdom of God.
There are different forms of prayer. This training will focus on introducing Prayer Ministry. It will explore what it means to pray with others, to intercede on someone’s behalf, and to help those who want to respond and spend time in God’s presence to receive His love, peace, comfort and healing. This training is open to all who desire to learn more about this ministry, for refresher training, and will equip participants to provide prayer ministry in a church, event or community setting.
