A Short Guide to the Bible Review
The Bible is undoubtedly the most wonderful book we will ever read. Inspired by God as one form of communication for us to know and hear God better, it contains verse upon verse of advice to shape us as God’s disciples. Yet, how did we get the Bible? Is it true? What is a helpful way to read it? What do all the fancy words like ‘anoint’, ‘covenant’, ‘Messiah’ and ‘sin’ mean? These are just some of the areas which Katy Morgan explores in her beautifully illustrated book, A Short Guide to the Bible.
This book serves as a wonderful introduction to the Bible. Whilst written and designed in a child-friendly style, it is a helpful guide for all ages! Younger children would likely need an adult to lead them through the book, whilst older children could easily navigate the book for themselves. Katy Morgan takes the reader through facts about the Bible, explains how to find your way around the Bible, gives an overview of the story of the Bible, and more!
Described by legendary children’s author and speaker, Bob Hartman, as ‘A handy companion to any Bible’, it would be helpful to use along with Sunday School sessions, at home with children, alongside your Bible devotions, or simply as a way of learning more about the Bible.
Let’s help our children and young people come to recognise that the Bible is, ‘God, who made the universe, speaking to you!’ (p 3). And let’s get stuck into the Bible ourselves!
