Each year the Methodist Church in Ireland sets aside Home Mission Sunday to focus on local mission and to raise money to support mission initiatives throughout Ireland.

The theme for Home Mission Sunday 2021 is RETURN.

In Joel 2, God's people are invited to RETURN to God with all their heart. In response, God promised to pour out his Spirit and give all people - young and old, male and female – new dreams and visions. The theme for Home Mission Sunday 2021 invites Methodists across the island to consider God's invitation to RETURN so that, like the followers of Jesus in Acts 2, we might experience an outpouring of the Spirit that leads to a wholehearted, spirit-filled community empowered for mission that transforms the world.
