It is with deep regret that World Mission Partnership shares the news of the passing of Rev. Dr. Norman Taggart on 10th December 2022.

Norman had a life-long commitment to the world church and world mission. As a Methodist Minister, he worked in Ireland, India, Sri Lanka and Britain. Ordained a presbyter in the Church of South India in 1963, he became Organising Secretary of the Irish Council of Churches in 1968, and was appointed Home Secretary of the Methodist Church Overseas Division (Methodist Missionary Society) in 1972. He was elected President of the Methodist Church in Ireland in 1997. Norman also penned a valuable two-volume record of “The Irish in World Methodism”
