Meet Rachel…

Today marks the beginning of Rachel’s role as Administration and Communications Coordinator for World Mission Partnership.

Find out more about Rachel and her role with WMP:

“Hello! I’m Rachel, I live in Newtownabbey with my husband, Simon, and our little dog, Bryn. I’m part of Abbots Cross Congregational Church where I serve with the Sunday School and Youth Fellowship.

I studied Geography at Queen’s University and have since worked as an NHS dental receptionist, an SEN classroom assistant, a Junior Merchandiser for a sustainable clothing start-up in Belfast, and most recently for World Development & Relief. I am passionate about the environment, I enjoy finding vintage and antique treasures for our home and spending time in nature.

I am excited to start my new role with World Mission Partnership, working as the Administration and Communications Coordinator, as we endeavour to find new ways to connect with those interested in serving God in mission and develop our relationships with Methodist Churches across the world.

Although I haven’t been on long-term mission, I’ve served on short-term teams in Madrid, Romania, and the Philippines. These experiences helped me to grow in confidence and have shaped who I am today. Though looking back I can see missed opportunities for creating lasting partnerships and developing the two-way relationships that are so vital for learning and growth in mission.

In my role with WMP, working alongside David, I will be responsible for administrative tasks, supporting visits to Ireland and out of Ireland, creating and promoting JMA resources, our bi-monthly email newsletter, Prayers of Solidarity and developing our social media to help more Methodists connect with mission.”
