Letter to the Foreign Secretary on Myanmar

Together with The Church of Scotland, The Methodist Church of Great Britain, the United Reformed Church, Presbyterian Church in Ireland and Baptists Together, the Methodist Church in Ireland has written to Foreign Secretary, Liz Truss MP, to urge Tatmadaw, the armed forces of Myanmar, to immediately return to barracks. This comes on the first anniversary of the Myanmar military coup.

Church leaders say the historical and cultural bonds between the UK and Myanmar are strong therefore the Foreign Office should take a leading role in building an international diplomatic response.

Visit the Joint Public Issues Team website for more information on the political situation in Myanmar.

Please continue to pray for Myanmar. You can read an update on the situation here.
