From Lurgan to Latvia

Volunteers from the Container Ministry are in Wesley Camp, near Vērgale in Latvia. They are helping to build adventure structures, including a zip line and woodland rope course.

Until 1991, Christianity was suppressed by the Soviet Government. Although Christianity is still the largest religion in the country, fewer than 1 in 10 Latvians regularly attend church services. Wesley Camp, a few miles inland from the Baltic Sea, is a place where God can reach those who don’t normally spend time in church. The camp also provides Methodist churches and ecumenical groups a facility for summer camps and winter retreats.

Please pray:

  • For Anita, the camp director, and all those who work or volunteer in Wesley Camp.

  • For the young people who will attend the camp this summer, that they will have a really enjoyable time together and a powerful encounter with God.

  • For the team from the Container Ministry: that they will have good health and safe travels, and that their work will be a blessing to the camp.
