Irish Methodists visit Magu, Tanzania
This summer, a group of Irish Methodists is travelling to Tanzania!
Led by William Donaghy, the team will travel from Finaghy and Sligo to Magu. The Methodist Church in Magu is at the centre of the local community, a powerful example of Christian witness with some inspirational stories to tell.
This visit is just the latest chapter in a long-standing relationship between Finaghy and Tanzania. With the help of Rev Moses Kaimanyi and his wife Elizabeth (from the Methodist Church Kenya), the relationship has been such a blessing for all those involved.
Between 28th June and 15th July, the team from Ireland will be working alongside their Tanzanian brothers and sisters. During that time, they will:
· Visit the Magu primary school classes, one class each day
· Paint the new Magu church extension inside and out
· Paint the new primary school dining hall inside and out
· Add artwork to the dining hall
· Take part in two Sunday services and Sunday schools
· Visit a number of churches
· Hold a Youth Convention morning on the final Saturday
The team from Finaghy and Sligo: Deirdre McHugh, Louise Bell, Emma Bell, Sonya Bell, William Donaghy, Brian Donaghy & Jack Donaghy.
Please keep the team in your prayers, asking God for:
· Save travels throughout the visit, and the safe arrival of all luggage
· Health and protection for the team
· An awareness of God's leading and the courage and strength to respond
· The overcoming of any language barriers
· The team to be an encouragement to everyone they meet
· The team to receive encouragement from our Tanzanian brothers and sisters
· The primary school children in Magu, that the team will help to provide an encounter God during their short visits
· All the young people who travel to the convention
