REGULAR MONTHLY GIVING

Regular monthly giving is the best way to financially support World Development & Relief partners. It allows us to budget and plan for the year ahead.

Examples of one year of monthly giving:

  • £15/€18 per month could provide mobility aids for a person with a disability in Palestine, increasing independence and opportunities

  • £25/ €30 per month could provide a young buffalo for a lower-caste Nepalese woman for income generation

  • £50 per month/ €55 per month could provide water pipes and guttering for a village in Ghana to collect and store valuable rainwater

Emergency Relief

Natural disasters and conflict require immediate emergency relief that keeps people alive. It is not a long-term plan.

WDR is able to respond to some emergencies, either directly or in collaboration with other agencies.

  • More than 150 people died, and many more injured, when an earthquake hit western Nepal in November.

WDR partner Kopila-Nepal is providing humanitarian relief to those affected by the earthquake. This includes clothes and food for those who desperately need it.

WDR has sent £5,000 (€5,700) to support this vital work.

  • Our sister agency, Christian Aid Ireland, have partners working on the ground in Gaza. Those wishing to support these relief efforts can donate to the Middle East Appeal here.

  • Our sister agency, Christian Aid Ireland, were able to respond immediately when the earthquakes hit, through partners already working on the ground.

Funds donated to WDR following this natural disaster were channelled through Christian Aid Ireland.

  • Through WDR, the Methodist Church in Ireland launched an emergency appeal following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Donations were sent to partners working on the ground that were able to respond immediately. This included WDR partner IJM, The United Methodist Church in the Central Conference of Central and Southern Europe and the United Methodist Church Poland.

Over £320,000 (€366,000) was raised to support vital humanitarian work through this appeal.
