Ukraine Emergency Appeal

Our Irish Methodist family has been shocked to see the violent invasion of Ukraine and the heart-breaking plight of its people.

We have been advised by those responding on the ground, that financial support is currently the priority (not material things, although they will inform us should this change). This will enable our sister churches to respond to refugee needs. They have already begun this. The United Methodist Church in Poland’s main buildings in Warsaw are full of refugees and they are being cared for.

Funds can also be channelled to meet needs within Ukraine itself. This financial support will be sent through MCI’s sister churches in the region.

An initial gift of £12,500 has been sent from the Methodist Church in Ireland. This sum is made up of £10,000 from World Development & Relief to assist the United Methodist Church in Poland as they support Ukrainian refugees. The further £2,500 has been donated by World Mission Partnership and will be used specifically for pastoral care.

Please give what you can.
