President at Centenary of the Ulster Tower at Thiepval, France

Ulster Tower

On Friday 19th November 2021 the President of the Methodist Church, the Rev. Dr. Sahr Yambasu in company with the Most Rev. John McDowell, Archbishop of Armagh and the Rt. Rev. Dr. David Bruce, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland will be attending a service to celebrate the Centenary of the Ulster Tower at Thiepval, France.

The Tower which is Northern Ireland's National War Memorial commemorates the men of the 36th (Ulster) Division and all Ulster men who served in the First World War.

The Methodist President has said:

"I pay tribute to those for whom this memorial Tower was erected but like the prophet Isaiah I long and pray for that time when nation will not take up sword against nation nor will they train for war any more."
