The Learning Resources Centre at Edgehill House

The Learning Resources Centre is a quiet space for study located within Edgehill House. It is our aim to help facilitate wider access to, and engagement with, new and existing Learning and Development resources. In addition to our extensive print library, we are currently developing access to a range of e-resources, including e-books, to enhance learning opportunities across the Connexion.

RESOURCES

The Ministries Team produces a range of resources designed to equip people across Ireland to develop their ministries in different roles and contexts

Doorsteps Stories

In this series members of the Methodist Church in Ireland share stories of their faith from their doorsteps. You can use these short videos to help individuals and groups think about how we can show and tell of Jesus’ love to others. The last video shares some highlights from the series and sets out some challenging questions.

“Let’s Talk” Resource

In a series of five videos, Grace McGurk, Learning and Development Officer for MCI, talks about some topical issues. You can use these short videos as a starter to help individuals and groups reflect on the topics such as:

  • Bereavement

  • Resilience

  • Domestic abuse (trigger warning)

  • Anxiety

  • Loneliness

Staying Well

An E-learning Resource focused on the theme of ‘Staying Well’ in ministry and leadership. Originally produced during the Covid-19 pandemic, this is an interactive resource that contains reflective questions, a video presentation, application questions, and ideas for follow up resources. It should take you about 30-60 minutes to complete.

#FrontlineStories

In a series of videos filmed during April, May and June 2020, Key Workers shared their challenges, joys and how the church supported them through the Covid-19 Pandemic. You can use these short videos as a starter to help individuals and groups reflect on how the church could continue to support individuals in their work situation.
