Event Worship Band

Throughout the year IMYC (Irish Methodist Youth and Children’s Team) are responsible for working alongside volunteers to organise two national events.

1. Autumn Soul (Our youth discipleship event, 14+)

2. Soul Mates (Our children’s discipleship event, 9 – 13yr olds)

One of the ways that we ask people to volunteer is through using their musical gifts and skills to come and be part of the volunteer band.

We are inviting participants to consider a three-year commitment to practicing and playing in the Event band.

We recognise that circumstances may change & a three-year commitment may be unrealistic, yet it is what we suggest to help potential band members understand what they are committing to and to help them grow.

For a more detailed breakdown of time commitment, see our FAQ section for a rough timetable of 2025.

Being part of the band will help you grow and develop skills and character.

  1. Time management skills - around practices, meetings and events.

  2. Teamwork skills - learning how to work and respect others contributions and work towards a common goal.

  3. Communication skills - communicating with IMYC and bandmates effectively, both verbal and non – verbal, when playing and practicing.

  4. Discipline - playing your instrument independently in between practices.

  5. Personal growth - as you work and learn from others around you.

  6. Technical development - about tech and equipment that bands need and use to enhance their sound.
