LIVING LETTERS
When Paul writes to the church in Corinth, he uses a number of different metaphors to describe those who follow Christ.
In 2 Corinthians chapter 3, he tells his readers that the transformed lives of the believers in Corinth are first of all his own letter of recommendation. But he then goes on to say that such letters, written not with paper and ink, but by the Holy Spirit, are a letter from Christ to the world.
This picture of a “living letter” reminds us how each follower of Jesus is called to be a vibrant, living expression of God’s Spirit, an “ambassador of Christ” to others. Our existence, our words and our actions should convey a message of love, hope and life that people can read and respond to.
In 2026-27 we will focus on what it means to be ‘Living Letters’ scribed, not with ink, but with the Spirit of the Living God.
The Living Wholeheartedly section of our website will be updated soon ahead of the new Connexional year with full details and resources for this year’s theme.

A PRAYER FOR CONFERENCE
Wonderful God, as Conference approaches,
We give thanks for the opportunity to gather together.
We are confident of your presence and thankful for your goodness.
May you be honoured in all that we do.
Gracious God, as Conference approaches,
Grant us wisdom and a discernment to your Spirit.
Let love guide our conversations,
And let Christ be at the centre of our decisions.
In worship, prayer and conversation, may your name be always praised.
Equipping God, as Conference approaches,
Pour out your Spirit on your Church.
Increase our passion,
Enlarge our vision,
Grant us courage and confidence to proclaim your name.
May we be your Living Letters, written by the Spirit and sent into the world.
In the name of Christ, and in the power of the Spirit,
Amen
