On Saturday 19th February, we gathered together, online and in-person across the island and beyond.

As part of the Joining with God’s Mission course, this Day Conference focused on the theme of Mission and Evangelism. 

Revd. Dr Stephen Skuce reflected on the difference between “Mission” and “Evangelism”.  We engaged in meaningful discussion on the topic of Evangelism - what it means for us as individuals and as Methodist people.  We looked at Scripture and how scholars today define “Evangelism”, before being asked to reflect on our own personal definition.

Grace McGurk followed by introducing a Pattern for Evangelism - Keep Praying, Build Relationships and Start Sharing.  With break out room and in-person discussion, the participants were able to reflect on each of the parts to the Pattern.  They were asked to consider what they are currently doing as individuals and a church but also to be think of trying something new.

The morning ended with a challenge to the participants to engage in intentional evangelism over the next 6 months and for us to gather again in September to hear and share our stories and experiences.
