WFM&UCW 13th World Assembly 2016

World federation assembly 2016

The World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women will hold their 13th World Assembly concurrently with the World Methodist Conference at the Hilton Hotel in Houston, Texas, from Mon August 29th to Saturday evening, September 4th 2016.

The theme for the assembly is ‘CHOSEN PEOPLE, CALLED TO PROCLAIM’ and is based on the Good News translation of 1Peter 2: 9&10

For the past two quinquenniums the Federation has worked hard on the Millennium Development Goals. With this new theme we will bring in a balance of Wesleyan Holiness and social concern, as we consider how we share Christ’s love through Worship, Social Action and Relationships.

These themes will be explored by the speakers, Rev Ouk-Yean Kim Jueng, Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church, Rev Lauren Matthew, Methodist Church of S. Africa and Rev Grace Imathiu, United Methodist minister who has served in Keyna, Washington, Ohio, Tenesee and Wisconsin.

There will be a variety of workshops which expand on the issues and many opportunities to meet and chat with Methodist women from all over the world.

The cultural events will be entertaining, informative, colourful and humourous.

Outings are also being planned. Choose from  Nasa Space Centre, The George Ranch Historical Park, The Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, the Museum District or Galleria Shopping Centre.

Altogether this is a conference not to be missed.
